The sun had been swollowed by the trees and earth and the sky was a dark purple with crimson streaks. They shown like a creek near a bloody battle, that would slowly fade away with time. Sleetwind crept slowly through the woods going no where and expecting nothing. His paws padded noiselessly on the soft grass, and his pelt shined with the first light of the moon.

A black she-cat sat on a rock atop a low rise, her lovely form silohetted against a deep crimson sky that slowly faded away into blackness dotted with tiny lights. Her pale yellow gaze was fixed unwaveringly on the full moon hanging in the sky that grew brighter and brighter as the sun sank lower beyond the horizon, sending bloody streaks of color flying into the sky.
Her eyes seemed to reflect more in the darkness than ever they would in the daylight, and it was as if miniature moons hung within the golden, fixated orbs. The femme was more still than the forest around her, which was saying something seeing as it was as silent as death in the thin trees. Her tail lay still, stretched out behind her like a coal river flowing from a black mountain.
Suddenly, the still form of the she-cat shifted a tiny bit, blinking slowly only once. A sigh wafted out into the trees from the black warrior and also from a soft ripple of wind that passed over the silver landscape.
Stars twinkled in the sky and as the breeze died down everything was silent and still again, as it was before. Crickets began to chirp in the grass sourounding Shadewing and as she sat like a sentinel made of shadows on the small hill, without turning, she sensed another cat's presence. Shadewing did not leap up though, or turn to see who it was, but merely kept her gaze locked on the pearly figure in the sky and mewed ever so softly, "Sleetwind." And her voice sounded like the water of a brook trickling smoothly over it's pebbly bed as it crept across the grass and reached the wandering cat's ears. It hadn't been a question, but rather a statement, as if she knew he would come.
The tip of the sun slipped over the edge of the world and dissapeared from the sight of the two cats. Night had officially fallen, which drove the crickets into a crazy frenzy and further shattered the silence of Shadewing's surroundings.

Sleetwind nodded as he walked to her side. His pelt brushed against hers as he padded forward. "What brings you here?" He asked so hushed it was almost a whisper. For some reason at this time of night every voice was a whisper even if it wasn't intentional. He soft voice was soon over taken by the ring of the grasshoppers song and the low hum of the insects that were flying around them. His tail landed on her shoulder as he leaned his fur against her. Her black coat was warm in the chill of the nightime's air.

Shadewing tore her gaze from the moon and brough it to stare into Sleetwind's eyes. She blinked once at him and felt a warmth swelling up in her heart that she couldn't explain. She felt ready to burst, and for some reason it made that feeling turn to hurt as she meowed softly, almost to softly to hear, "I'm going to be a medicine cat. Dark Twilightclan has more or less forced this destiny upon me."
She paused for a few moments, searching for the right words. Her heart broke with every syllable she uttered, "I knew you were coming because they told me you were. They want me to tell you, we can't be together." Her eyes fell to the ground and she muttered even more quietly than before, feeling her skin grow hot under her fur, "B-but this is only temparary. I'm sure they'll find a better cat for the job of medicine cat soon and then..."
Unease crept through her fur, and she swore heat was emanating from her body in waves she was so embarrassed. She paused once more before she spoke quite obvious words, "I think I love you." For a cat like Shadewing to say this was extremely uncomfortable, but she was willing to take this leap of faith. Meanwhile in the sky the moon shone ever as bright as it always had, unaffected by any happenings on the planet.

Sleetwind's eyes flashed with anger. His tail lashed through the air. He stared up into the sky if Dark Twilight clan was watching him now they would no that his whispers were a curse for them. The utter blackness felt like in was engolfing him he took a step back from Shadewing so he was no longer touching her. His pelt and his heart grew cold.
He no longer felt any anger only hurt his eyes searched hers for any emotion. He let out a long sigh. "I know I love you," He mumbled sadly. He looked down at his feet now. He wasn't even embarrassed. He couldn't explain this feeling to himself. He just knew that he wanted to be over it because it made him ache inside, and it tore at his heart with a raging feury.

Shadewing's heart leaped in her chest as she heard these words, but it sunk again as she realized that it wouldn't be able to work. She wanted to yowl out to Dark Twilightclan and scatter their world into further darkness, but she could not. She gazed at Sleetwind, now positive of her feelings. She had never known what love felt like before, and so had been unaccustomed to it until now. Her golden eyes seemed to hold Sleetwind's for a moment, as if begging him not to look away. "I really wish.....I just wish that we could be together, but we can't. I didn't decide this..............Dark Moonclan did. I hate them for doing this to me, for I not only did not want to be a medicine cat, but now that I know how I feel about you..." She let out a long, deep sigh, "I feel even worse. We should just be friends....for now."
Shadewing's black pelt seemed to glow with the emotion that emanated from her. She hoped that Sleetwind would not hate her now. Her heart longed to just brush pelts with him and watch the stars together one last time, before what existed of their relationship was terminated for good. Of all the things she wanted, she didn't want to cry. She hated crying, and wasn't the kind of cat that ever cried, but she did. It was silent and barely noticable until a salty drop splashed onto the ground, making a soft plip noise.

Sleetwind saw the single drop fall to the ground. When he looked up at her both eyes were filled with warm tears. He watched sadly as another trickled down her dark cheek. Stoping for a moment at her chin before, like the other landing with a soft plop. He padded over to her slowly till their pelts touched again. He tryed to shake the sadness from his eyes, to be strong for her. All he really wanted to do though was curl up and cry too.
"Don't cry. It's......It's not your fault. Things like this just happen," Sleetwind said. He licked the tear away from her cheek and rested his head on her shoulder. His lean body shook once with the realization that at least for now friends would be all they could be. He wanted to ask her if it was possible for her to not be the medicine cat but he didn't want to push her. He didn't want ot risk there friendship for something more if she was so sure it couldn't happen. He let out a quiet sigh as he rested on her.

Shadewing's shaking limbs steadied as the warm pelt of her friend was pressed against her. She licked his ear gently and looked up at the stars, sighing as he did. She was silent for a long while beside the tom that could for now only be her friend. Her tail flicked over to twine with his and she pressed against him softly.

Sleetwind purred. It rung softly in the peacful night. In this very moment he felt content. If only it could stay like this forever. He thought to himself. His tail curled around hers as they stood there staring up at the bright stars.

Pain shot through Shadewing's head, right where her neck joined her skull. She cringed and accidentally unsheathed her claws at the pain her headache was giving her. Her eyes started to water like she was about to cry, so she closed them.
immediately a vision burst into her head, stars shining everywhere like the reflection of a lake in the sky. She looked around, realizing that Twilightclan had called her back again. A strange sensation it was, to feel her pelt pressed against her love and feel her paws on the loamy earth while she saw nobody beside her and was standing on a misty, barren ground with starlit cats gathering round. Whispers floated through the air, and one went into her ear, caught clearly as if spoken next to her, "In time they tire, and they wear. Death comes floating on the air. Sometimes you may wonder why seasons come and go...so do you and I. Beware the love you cannot keep, or soon it's wounds will peirce us deep."
Shadewing's golden eyes flew open, and her paws itched suddenly as if she needed to run. She leaped to her paws and looked at Sleetwind. "Twilightclan has told me a prophecy....I-I must speak with Graystar! He needs to know a lot more than I've been telling him." She steped foward slowly and pressed her muzzle to his chest. Shadewing mewled softly, "Farewell for now, for this may be the last time in moons that I can safely hold you close without fret..."

Sleetwind looked up at her. His amber orbs were filled again with hurt, any hope had been beated to a pulp. He shivered as her pelt left his making him feel cold inside. "You must leave so soon," He asked. He felt her tail slip away from his and he wished he could go back in time. He felt like he was loosing forever and there was nothing he could say or do to stop it. "Please won't you stay with me," He asked his voice cracked as he finished.
His feet padded the against the damp ground as he waited for her responce. His heart beated slower, and his breathing nearly stopped entirly. He blinked once, twice. Then oped his eyes slowly. He let out a long sigh when he realized she was still standing there. I almost wished it was all a dream, He thought to himself.

Shadewing felt her heart cracking as she stammered, "I-I'm sorry. I can't..." She took a step back, feeling her heart shatter into tiny peices as she forced herself to leave his side. Golden eyes looked upon Shadewing, taking him in, every last peice of him as if engraving him in her mind. 'and there your picture will stay in my mind, perfect until we can be together.' Shadewing turned and hurried off, feeling tears slowly leak down her face leaving tiny warm paths as she ran to camp as fast as she could in her state.

Sleetwind pondered on what to do next. Do I chase her? Is that what she wants? He asked himself though really it seemed to him that she just wanted to get away from him and that's what made him feel the worst the thought that she just wanted to be free of him like he was some kind of monster. Then he remebered that his mother had once told him to always chase your dreams. Well maybe this was the same way. If you don't give it a shot then there will be no hope at all. You can't just give up when one thing goes wrong or else nothing would get done.
He took one hesitant step forward as he watched her running away. "Wait, don't just run away," He called hoping she would hear him. In case she hadn't he ran to a full sprint. He would catch her soon. "Please can't we at least just talk about this a little bit longer?" He asked as he grew nearer. There was no way that she wouldn't have heard that. At least he just wanted her to look back to agnolige that he even existed. That he had ever ment a thing to her.
ooc: Mwahaha idk what do you think.

ooc- I think I likey :]
bic- Shadewing heard a noise and she looked over her shoulder while running. It was Sleetwind, pursueing her. Her heart soared, and for a moment so did she as she tripped over a tree root. The black she-cat rolled through a bramble bush and layed on the ground, curled up in a little ball. She looked so tiny and helpless, just a black bundle of fur.
Shadewing groaned, sitting up as Sleetwind came to a halt beside her. She felt pressure pushing on her heart. Why couldn't this tom understand? He was breaking her, forcing her to choose between her duty to Dark Twilightclan and her heart. Couldn't he see he was hurting her and making her feel guilty for idly shoving her heart aside? Being a cat that didn't often run from her soul, she felt peculiar to find herself hiding her face from Sleetwind, embarrassed to have messed up in front of him. Why was she so timid before him, when she was really a strong cat? Was she in love?
She felt the reverberating hearbeats within her chest filling her up. She was a medicine cat, though she didn't want to be. Dark Twilightclan had made her one, and she had to deal with that. Shadewing began to shake. She didn't want to have to choose...if only she could just close her eyes and never have to open them again.
And her eyes were closed as she trembled, hot with shame as she layed on the ground with stinging stratches now tangible on her pelt. She kept her eyes closed, knowing drops of blood were probably welling up on her fur. Thoughts drifted in her head. She had to make a decision. Now or never....but what could she do? Shadewing didn't seem happy that he had followed her. She seemd pained to have to see him again. Maybe she thought he would have given up at her goodbye speach, but he wouldn't let her leave that easily. He gasped as he saw her take off in flight. She really did look like she was flying. That only lasted a few moments because after that she was headed in a downward spiral back to earth. He ran as fast as he could to reach her once she had his the ground. She was still breathing at least.
"I'm sorry," Sleetwind whispered. She could have interperated it to mean for him pressuring her, or for him following her and making her look back which inevitably lead to her fall. He layed his ear to her side. He could hear the low thumping of her her heart beating inside of her. He couldn't help but think it was beating strangles though like it was being bent and broken. He figured it was probally just his imaginationn toying with him.
He watched as little pools of blood began to develop dotting her dark coat. He grazed his tongue over them hoping to stop the bleeding.
